Pickleball is fun. Pickleball that helps build stronger Michigan communities? Even better.

This year’s Pickleball for Good, hosted by orsa foundation, brought together friends, families, team members, partners and community supporters for a day of pickleball, good food, connection and giving back to Michigan communities.

Why we play

Behind all the serves, volleys and friendly competition is a bigger reason we get together each year.

Pickleball for Good supports the orsa foundation and its work to tackle one of Michigan’s biggest barriers to economic prosperity: housing affordability. Through partnerships and strategic funding, the foundation is helping make housing more attainable, strengthen our workforce and foster greater community mobility.

And this year, our community showed up.

More than 110 people and 13 sponsors and partners helped raise nearly $40,000 to support the foundation’s work.

That’s what Pickleball for Good is really about: coming together, having some fun and investing in stronger Michigan communities.

Retro looks made a comeback

We asked attendees to bring their best retro sports style to the court this year, and they delivered.

More than a dozen people showed up in throwback athletic gear, with three taking home prizes for their looks. Let’s just say we saw enough windbreakers, tube socks and old-school sportswear to know we need to do this again.

Retro will be back in 2027. Consider this your head start.

A big thank you to everyone who grabbed a paddle, came out to cheer, sponsored the event or helped make the day happen. With support from orsa credit union, our partners and everyone who joined us, a fun day on the court will make an impact well beyond it.

We’ll see you back on the court in 2027.
