We are orsa credit union
orsa, the credit union you knew as Community Financial

Our board chair, Teri Kuehn, and our president & ceo, Tansley Stearns, share why we’re evolving, what this means for our members, and how this next chapter builds on everything we’ve always stood for.

For 75 years, our credit union has shown up as a protector and a guide—steady, caring, and fiercely committed to the people and communities we serve. That instinct has shaped every chapter of our story.
Anchored by Daisy, our mama bear, and inspired by the Ursa constellations that have guided travelers for centuries, orsa reflects who we have always been: grounded in care, oriented toward possibility, and confident in where we’re going next.
This new name doesn’t change our purpose of creating joy and igniting Michiganders’ impossible dreams. It clarifies it.

Our story began in 1951 at the Daisy Air Rifle factory in Plymouth, Michigan, where a small group of coworkers believed banking could, and should, put people first. They looked out for one another, protected what mattered, and built something together.
Daisy represents those roots.
As we’ve grown and expanded across Michigan, that same instinct has stayed with us: to protect, support, and walk alongside our members through bright and dark moments alike.
From the factory floor to communities across the state, Daisy reminds us of where we started.
While our name is changing, who we are is not. We’re still the same member-owned cooperative you know and trust—built on 75 years of care, deep Michigan roots, and a belief that financial well-being should create opportunity and joy.
There’s nothing you need to do. We’ve planned this transition carefully, and we’ll take care of the rest.
orsa credit union is the next chapter in a 75-year story of showing up for Michigan through life’s milestones, challenges, and impossible dreams. Thank you for being part of our story. We’re excited to keep building what comes next, together.
