Why orsa?
For 75 years, our credit union has shown up as a protector and a guide—steady, caring, and fiercely committed to the people and communities we serve. That instinct has shaped every chapter of our story.
Anchored by Daisy, our mama bear, and inspired by the Ursa constellations that have guided travelers for centuries, orsa reflects who we have always been: grounded in care, oriented toward possibility, and confident in where we’re going next.
This new name doesn’t change our purpose of creating joy and igniting Michiganders’ impossible dreams. It clarifies it.
Meet Daisy Bear
orsa reminds us how far we can go.
Our story began in 1951 at the Daisy Air Rifle factory in Plymouth, Michigan, where a small group of coworkers believed banking could, and should, put people first. They looked out for one another, protected what mattered, and built something together.
Daisy represents those roots.
As we’ve grown and expanded across Michigan, that same instinct has stayed with us: to protect, support, and walk alongside our members through bright and dark moments alike.
From the factory floor to communities across the state, Daisy reminds us of where we started.

Yes. orsa is the credit union you knew as Community Financial. This change reflects a clearer, more distinctive way to tell our story, while staying true to who we’ve always been.
Many financial institutions in Michigan share similar names, which can create confusion. A more distinctive name helps people recognize us, remember us, and find us, which strengthens our ability to serve members and communities across the state.
As we celebrate 75 years of serving you, our members, we saw an opportunity to honor our legacy while positioning the credit union clearly for the future we’re building, one rooted in care, courage, and shared impact.
orsa means she-bear. It’s inspired by Daisy, our mama bear.
No. orsa credit union remains an independent, member-owned cooperative. This is an evolution in how we show up, not a change in ownership or direction.
No. Your routing number, account numbers, addresses, and phone numbers all remain the same.
There are no branch openings or closures associated with the name change. You’ll begin seeing updated signage as part of a thoughtfully planned transition. With that said, our new Novi location will be opening to members later in 2026.
No immediate changes are required. Existing cards will continue to work. New card designs will be introduced, and cards will update naturally at reissue or expiration.
No. Your account and routing code remain the same, and checks will be processed in the same way.
