Joy has a Sound: Announcing Orsa Music Hall!
We’ve partnered with Music Hall Detroit to ignite joy and inspire even more access to the arts with an exciting new partnership in the Motor City!
Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts, one of the city’s iconic cultural institutions, and orsa credit union, the credit union you knew as Community Financial, have secured a transformative partnership that includes naming rights to the new Music Hall Expansion, along with long-term support for programming, education and community engagement.
When we started this, we didn’t ask, ‘Where can our name go?’ We asked, ‘Where does Detroit’s future need support?’
Music Hall Detroit is approaching 100 years of cultural leadership. From the swing of Count Basie’s orchestra to the poetry of Eartha Kitt and the legacy of Aretha Franklin, it has shaped Detroit’s identity through music, performance, and access to the arts.
Detroit is in a moment of reinvention. And strong cities grow on culture. The creativity it inspires ignites moments of reinvention and anchors cities during transitions.
Because orsa exists to create joy and ignite Impossible Dreams across Michigan, we are making this intentional, long-term investment to ensure that the Music Hall continues to grow its impact—both culturally and economically. Fueling foot traffic for local small businesses, sparking tourism, and igniting talent attraction. All while making Detroit a city where people from around the country want to move and live.
Access, creativity, and community vitality. (And that’s just the beginning!)
Joy shouldn’t be a luxury. It’s a vital part of any community’s social fabric. Which is why this investment is designed to broaden the reach of the arts, expand educational programming, and create more opportunities for artists, students, families, and audiences across the region. In the true spirit of Belonging, this is about expanding who gets to participate in culture, not just who can afford it. And we couldn’t be happier.
Your membership just got even more exciting.
If you love music and the arts, stay tuned. There are some very exciting things to come! In the meantime, you can share your passion and excitement by celebrating with our new member-exclusive Orsa Music Hall debit card. Huzzah!

A letter from Tansley Stearns
president & ceo, orsa credit union
For nearly a century, that sound has echoed from the heart of Detroit through the work of the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts, a place where artists, audiences, and ideas collide to create something unforgettable.
As the Music Hall approaches its 100th anniversary, orsa credit union is honored to stand alongside them at the outset of their next chapter, investing in the expansion of their mission and the creative future of Detroit for decades to come. At orsa, the credit union you knew as Community Financial, we are united by a shared belief that the arts do more than entertain. They spark possibility.
Our new name reflects who we have always been and where we are going next. Choosing orsa was about clarity, courage, and committing even more boldly to our purpose at a moment of growth, for our member-owned cooperative and for the communities we serve.
That same spirit lives in this partnership. Through a 25-year naming agreement, we are proud to showcase our commitment to Detroit and the arts while also telling our story. We are proud to shine vibrantly as the Orsa Music Hall. This moment is not about a name on a building. It’s about a partnership rooted in creativity, long-term belief, and an unshakeable commitment to Detroit and to all Michiganders.
At orsa, our purpose is simple and ambitious: to create joy and ignite Michiganders’ impossible dreams. The arts are essential to that purpose. They invite us to feel, to question, to connect, and to dream bigger than we thought possible. Few institutions embody that spirit more powerfully than the Music Hall, whose history mirrors Detroit itself, resilient, expressive, and endlessly creative.
We believe in Detroit as a city people nationwide dream of moving to, building in, and belonging to. We invest in partnerships that shape that future with intention and heart. Our new Grand River location reflects our commitment to showing up for Detroit’s residents as boldly as we support Michiganders across the state, where our cooperative has grown. This partnership is one more way we say, clearly and publicly: Detroit matters. Arts matter. Joy matters.
We are proud to begin this journey with the Music Hall and grateful to the artists, supporters, and community members who make this place extraordinary. Together we honor history while making space for what’s next, for new voices, new audiences, and new impossible dreams.
Let the music play. Let the dancing begin. Let the joy be loud. Huzzah!
With curiosity and care,
