Every member is an owner—and that’s the way we like it.
Our members are the people we serve and the collective owners of the credit union, each with an equal say in elections no matter their account size. Anyone who lives, works, worships, or goes to school in Michigan can be an orsa member with just a $5 deposit.
Membership is also available for businesses and other legal entities (or for those who regularly conduct business) in Michigan. At orsa, every question is a good question.
A credit union is a not-for-profit financial institution owned by its members. Instead of focusing on profits, credit unions like us focus on people—offering lower fees, better rates, and personalized service. Members pool their money to help each other with loans and other financial needs, while earnings go back to benefit the community. It’s all about working together and putting people first.
Banks and credit unions might look alike, but they’re pretty different. Banks are for-profit and focus on making money. Credit unions are not-for-profit, owned by members, and all about serving people. That means lower fees, better rates, and a more personal touch. While banks aim to grow their ever-increasing profits, credit unions like us reinvest in their members and communities—it’s the difference between being a customer and being part of something bigger.

Membership in this credit union shall be limited to:
- Persons who reside, work, attend school, or worship within any county in the State of Michigan.
- Employees of this credit union
- Members and immediate families of the foregoing.
- Any legal entity that is comprised for the most part of the same general group as the membership of the credit union as outlined above.
- A spouse of a deceased member if accepted into membership prior to remarriage.
